Thanksgiving at the River Ranch

For Thanksgiving this year we traveled to the middle of nowhere...........well it's called Crowell, Texas. It takes us about 6 hours to get there and it is such a wonderful place. My parents bought lots of wide open space next to the Wichita River and about 2 1/2 years ago built a home away from home there- the cabin. My dad retired last year and this special place is a dream come true for our family. It took us about 25 minutes off of the main road to get to the cabin. The view is so beautiful, and it's so quiet.............it almost hurts your ears it's so quiet. We hunted of course, and saw lots of animals, turkey, bobcats, deer, sandhill crane, rabbits, ducks, coyote, hogs, quail, dove and what was Reese most afraid of............the COWS!!!! The girls had such a great time, just sight seeing, collecting rocks and going down to the river. We had all the comforts of home they even got DISH out there right before we came down ( a dish man drove 3 hours from Ok. to install the dish), so the girls didn't miss the Disney channel at night! Thanksgiving day we had a wonderful meal, I cooked the dress'n this year and I didn't burn it!!! I had some time by myself to sit on top of the cliff and look over the river...........your mind can be so clear there. All I could do is think of God and His greatness, and give Thanks!!!
