Today I had a "talk" with my almost 9 year old, not "THAT" talk, but there does come a time in every little girl's life when their pits just smell really musty! As silly as this is, I can't believe that she using deodorant...........wasn't she just born!!! It scares me, because I know that there are other things to come.........and more talks! YIKES.............I'm not ready!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to start reading some self-help books for mothering girls!

These kids are getting too big TOO FAST. They need to STOP. IT. RIGHT. NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck with all that. :) Take careful notes, so when I'm there in a coupla years, you'll have all the words of wisdom for me! :)
Ok---here are some good ones that I've used:
1. American Girls "The Care & Keeping of You" (Beware: this one is probably way TOO mature with MORE INFO than you'll want for her right now, but if YOU read it & then hide it for a couple of years, at least it'll give you some things to talk to her about.)
2. from the Learning about Sex series: "How You Are Changing". This one is written from a Christian, Scriptural perspective. Illustrations are all cartoon-esque drawings. Everything from puberty to sex is covered in a sweet way that is "safe" for a 9-11yr old to read with you or alone. Savannah's read it cover to cover a couple of times now.

hey girl! I have a book by Kevin Lehman, who I think is GREAT called, "The Chicken's Guide to Talking Turkey about Sex". Something like that anyway. You can borrow if you like.
